ROSE BANE took command quickly and, continuing well out in the course while under a good hold rounding the turn, tired in the drive but had enough left to stall off WISE PAISANO. The latter, fractious at the post but away well, went to the inside after reaching the turn and continued to save ground while closing" resolutely, but failed to get up. AKRON-TOWN raced wide after going a quarter and" had speed from the start, but faltered in the final eighth. FAIRLET did not keep up when entering the stretch. UNCLE WALTER, kept close to the early pace without need -of urging and always clear as he raced on the outside, responded nicely when called upon and, holding on gamely, withstood late threats. NIGHT LADY, under energetic riding from the start, improved her position gradually after a half and, finishing with determination, was getting to the winner. JACKORACK, badly outrun to the stretch, where he came to the outside, closed with a rush and was rapidly overtaking the leaders. VALTITE had speed but gave way slowly in the drive and pulled up lame. GRAND NEWS, sharply blocked early, was in a contending position entering the stretch, but tore to the inside so persistently his rider could not do him justice in the last three-sixteenths. BIBLIOPHILE "had no mishaps. LIGHT TIDE was through early. DOWNY PILLOW, away slowly, made up but little ground while under only light restraint early, drifted out badly when entering the stretch and, coming with a rush when straight, took command in the last sixteenth and then drew out. CHERRIKO, well rated, disposed of HASTY STAR quickly .when ready, but tired in thelate stages. ROMAN DESCENT moved up fast when entering the stretch, but tired near the close. GOOD GOSH, eased back when in close quarters in the stretch, came again when clear. HASTY STAR was used up making the pace. MONKS MEMO met interference approaching the turn. OLD SMOKEY, steadied along for three-quarters, swung very wide entering the stretch, responded to pressure when straight and won drawing out. WEST-HO, a strong factor from the start and also in hand for three-quarters, was racing stongly when caught in close quarters in the stretch and, coming again when clear, outfinished TATU. The latter cut out the early pace under good rating, swerved slightly under light pressure soon after entering the. stretch and was . not strongly persevered with thereafter. YODROFF worked her way up gradually, but tired after nearing the leaders. SIGN raced wide in her good effort. LICHEMA was held safe. K. ROUNDER dropped back when drifting out soon after reaching the stretch, but rallied near the end. CAPTAIN FURY quit. LATENT was faltering when impeded in the stretch. Scratched 234082Keekee, 105. IDLE SUN crossed to the inside when leaving the back stretch, started up slowly approaching the stretch, was directed between the leaders in the drive and won drawing out. INSCOLAD took command easily, saved ground and held -on well in the drive, but was not good enough. BONZAR forced the early pace in hand, came to the outside when making his move and tired in the last sixteenth. BEAMY, taken back soon after the start, was on the outside in the final half and closed well in his good effort. MORDECAI also raced wide much of the distance, but hung on well. MILLO alternated in the early pace-making under a good hold and, opening up a commanding load with a rush when ready, won with something in reserve. JACOTOT, away slowly, was sent through several narrow openings when moving up, then was placed to good pressure in the stretch and, after wearing down BOLD MISS, could not menace the winner. AWAY did not keep up on the final turn, but closed well through the stretch. BUECHEL had no excuse. BOLD MISS quit under pressure. ILLINOIS STAR Taced wide and tired after going five-eighths. KITCHE MANITOU ran into a long lead with a rush, was placed under restraint after reaching the back stretch, swerved out when shaken up entering the stretch and failed to withstand WAYRIELS bid, but came again while again swerving out in the late stages and, regaining command, held it to the end. WAYRIEL, under a good hold for about seven-eighths, responded to light urging to gain a short advantage, met light interference just before losing the lead and was outfinished by the winner. VALEROSO II., a factor from the start, loafed under pressure for a brief, time in the stretch, but finished kindly and was getting to the leaders. HUP NANCY offered no serious contention.
