Allegro Scores For New Owners OwnersClicks Clicks for D B Stable at Narragansett M Feldman Claims Him Following Race RacePAWTUCKET PAWTUCKET R I May 4 Allegro claimed last start by the D B Stable made good at the first asking for the new owners in capturing the Bonnet Shores Claiming Purse The sevenyearold gelded son of High time went the six fur ¬ longs over the slow strip in 113 In ¬ cidentally Allegro changed hands for the second consecutive time when he was taken from this event by Max Feldman for 2000 He had previously been claimed for 1500 Chance Sord racing for N Progin followed the winner over the line beaten a length and a half while T F Bledsoes Fort Vancouver after having established the running for the first half mile landed in third place placeLyle Lyle Whiting had the mount on Allegro and took him back off the pace as Fort Vancouver and Balmy Spring elected to make the running Nearing the turn from the backstretch Chance Sord moved up to supplant Balmy Spring in second place Allegro also began to better his position and moved up on the outside of his company companyCuts Cuts Down Fort Vancouvers Lead LeadNearing Nearing the stretch it was still Fort Van ¬ couver racing clear of his field Allegro had moved up and still on the outside had dead aim on the leaders Into the stretch Fort Vancouver was still in front but his lead had been reduced considerably Al ¬ legro moving on the outside bumped Chance Sord slightly and then moved to the front Once in the lead Whiting re ¬ sorted to a strong hand ride and managed to have Allegro come out steadily steadilyChance Chance Sord nad little trouble in wear ¬ ing down Fort Vancouver to gain his placing The others had played little part in the running and were strung out outA A splendid weekend crowd was on hand and while the racing strip was heavy at the start of the program it had dried out steadily and was termed slow from the fifth race on
