Six Lincoln Fields FieldsFixtures Fieldsi i Fixtures Draw Well WellNominations Nominations to Headline v Events Close Today Winn Young Return From Downs DownsAs As the deadline nears for the closing of entries for Lincoln Fields stakes to be run at Hawthorne during the 30day meeting beginning May 17 it appears each of the six added money features will draw large lists of nominations Entries for the half dozen stakes each carrying 5000 in added money close today at midnight and are be ¬ ing accepted at the downtown offices ofthe Lincoln Fields Jockey Club at 31 East Con ¬ gress street Chicago ChicagoAmong Among the stables which will or already have made subscriptions to these contests are those of Herbert M Woolf Emerson F Woodward John M Hutchins John Marsch Mrs Emil Denemark A C Ernst Leslie Combs n Jake Lowenstein William F Morgan W J Sprow Thomas Piatt R W Mcllvain Mrs Marie Evans Brownell Combs and Mrs Albert Sabath All of those patrons have stall applications for the Lin ¬ coln Fields meeting and the horses of some of them already are on the grounds at Hawthorne where the Lincoln Fields meet ¬ ing will be conducted this year yearThe The stakes closing tomorrow are the Crete Francis S Peabody Steger La Salle and Lincoln handicaps and the Joliet Stakes The latter is a fivefurlong spin for twoyearolds while the others are con ¬ tests at distances from six furlongs to a mile and a quarter for threeyearolds and upward They will be presented on each of the Saturdays of the meeting and on Decoration Day DayOpen Open Headquarrersvat Hawthorne HawthorneTom Tom Young track superintendent ar ¬ rived here yesterday afternoon and today will open his headquarters at Hawthorne where a number of stables will have to be shifted within the next 10 days to provide room for the many establishments to which he has allotted stall space spaceAnnouncement Announcement that Lincoln Fields will offer minimum purses of 1000 was greeted with enthusiasm by most horsemen who now are looking forward to release of the first book of conditions The books will be ready for distribution before the end of the week it was said at Lincoln Fields headquarters headquartersCol Col Matt J Winn executive director of Lincoln Fields arrived yesterday from Louisville and took complete charge of preparations for the coming meeting Here ¬ tofore he has been forced to divide his attention between his affairs at Louisville where he recently promoted another suc ¬ cessful Derby and Lincoln Fields but now the Downs meeting will continue along on its own momentum and he will be able to give all his time to the Chicago meeting Colonel Winn will be joined here in a few days by C Bruce Head steward in charge of racing at Lincoln Fields and later by Russell Sweeney general manager Head and Sweeney also will come from Louisville LouisvilleThe The racing offices at Hawthorne will be opened on Monday when James T Clark will begin to accept stable registrations
