I ; . Tunney Announces Dozen Del Mar Stakes Events One 0,000 and Eight ,000; Quigley Memorial New Fixture DEL MAR. Calif.. June 21.— The Del Mar Jockey Club will offer an even dozen stakes on their summer program. General manager William Tunney made the announcement here last week. The meeting follows on the heels of Santa Anita, opening July 11 for a run of 40 days. The feature races will be topped by the 0,000 Del Mar Handicap and will include eight events for ,000 purses and three for ,000 purses. Those in the latter brackets will be for two-year-olds. A new addition to the stake list will be the Quigley Memorial, named in honor of William Quigley, former general manager of the track. The stakes are as follows: July 14 — Long Beach Handicap, ,000, three-year-olds and up, one mile. July 21 — Palomar Handicap, ,000, three-year-olds and up. one mile. July 28 — Walter Connolly Handicap, .-000. three-year-olds and up, mile and one-sixleenth. August 4 — Ramona Handicap. ,000, three-year-olds and up, fillies and mares. one mile. August 11 — La Jolla Handicap. ,000, California-bred, three-year-olds and up. one mile. August 15 — Osunitas Stakes, ,000. two-♦ year-old fillies, six furlongs.
