DOCTOR JEEP improved his position steadilv hiring the first half, was sent to the outside for the drive and, responding to punishment, wore down the leaders in the last eighth. ERIC KNIGHT went to the front at once, established a clear lead while making the pare and held on willingly in the drive, but could not withstand the winner. DAIRY LADY finished stoutly in a good effort and had no mishaps. LONE SENTRY ■ made a good bid entering the stretch, then tired nearing the finish. NIGHT BOMBER lacked early speed. CYCLORAMA quit after racing prominently to the stretch. MATTIE SUE dwelt at the s t a 1 1 , losing all chance. ICYSTREAM had early speed. RED VULCAN had a rough trip. Claimed— Doctor Jeep by W. I. BUENA VENTURA, a sharp factor throughout, came gamely when roused for the drive, but could not overhaul the winner. A. ONE, slow to reach best stride, was in close quarters entering the stretch, but finished fast when clear. AI.DRIDGE raced evenly and had no excuse. CANEE lacked earlv spede. BORDERS BOY was outrun.
