Green Shed Surprises In Opener at Detroit Bomar Stable Juvenile Outruns Sweet Rythm by Four Lengths DETROIT, Mich., June 25.— Displaying a knack for speed that was lacking in her initial effort at Pimlico, Bomar Stables Green Shed graduated from the two-year-old maiden ranks in front-running fashion in the opener at the Fair Grounds today, and her supporters received the remunerative sum of 4.60 for . The daughter of Teddys Comet— Wafer had "speed to burn" from the start, quickly outrunning her opposition to arrive at the finish four lengths in advance of Sweet Rythm, with Platinum Sands third, three lengths farther back. Time for the four and one-half furlongs was :545. With the large pay-off on Green Shed, a Daily Double return of 36.40 evolved to those combining the winner of the first race with MacDonald Stables Epi Gal in the second. Epi Gal paid .50. After running down the early pacemak-mg Miss Flyer, Epi Gal took over entering the stretch and facilely held off the fast charging Levena by six lengths while completing the six furlongs in 1:1525. Third position went to Ebony Bee, who also came from off the pace. A 3 to 2 favorite came "through" in the third, another six-furlong test, when Leach and Funks Through Train charged fast through the stretch to encompass a two lengths triumph over Stippler, with Fur Coat, who got momentarily to the front midway of the stretch, a fading third.
