Mm KMm WILLIAM L. BRANN— His fleet filly, Gallorette, humbled her rivals at Belmont Park yesterday and served notice that shell be a keen factor in the Suburban, should her connections elect to start her in the Memorial Day fixture. Lord Boswell to Spot Opponents V/eight in Peter Pan Handicap Master Bid, Hypnotic Likely 1 To Give Maine Chance Colt Tussle at Belmont Today BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 24.— The 0,000 Peter Pan Handicap at a mile and one-eighth is the feature offered for the delegation of fans who drive, walk, hitch-hike, or take the subway and buses to Belmont Park tomorrow. The mile and a furlong test shapes up on paper as worth the vicissitudes of travel to see. Fourteen three-year-olds have been entered overnight for the event, headed by Maine Chance Farms Lord Boswell, who must carry 128 pounds, and will be a solid choice, despite that impost. Racing secre-tary-handicapper John B. Campbell rated the son of Boswell — Fantine at the head of his generation last year and his performances in the Derby and Preakness, in which he finished fourth and second, have done comparatively little to discredit him. Mrs. Elizabeth N. Graham, owner of Maine Chance Farm, is also sending out Perfect Bahram as a stablemate to Lord Boswell and this colt gets in with only 112. He might be dangerous for he won a couple of heats in Kentucky before being sloughed at the start of the Derby, then finished third here behind Hampden and Natchez at level weights in the Withers, thoroughly beaten. Hypnotic May Be Factor The others in the Peter Pan are Brook-meade Stables Master Bid, 118; A. C. Ernsts Alamond, 116; Lester Manor Stables Manor Lad, 113; Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Mahout, 112, and Mr. Jeffords Lion Rampant, 105; Walter P. Chryslers Cedar Creek and Mrs. Aksel Wichfelds Cable, 110 each; Wheatley Stables Mis-leader and Mrs. Alfred Roberts War Watch, 108 apiece; William Helis Phidias, 105; Belair Studs Hypnotic, 104, and Greentree Stables Midnight Oil, 102. Hypnotic will be coupled with Misleader and promises to be a strong factor on the strength of her recent victory in the Coaching Club American Oaks, in which the filly scored comfortably. At first, second and third glances this edition of the Peter Pan shapes up as a contest between Lord Boswell, if he accepts the issue, and Master Bid. The latter was a high class gelding last year and won his 1946 debut in impressive style here, giving indications tint he might be able to cope with the best of his generation. Being a gelding, he is not eligible to the Belmont Stakes which is Lord Boswells major objective. The others appear a mediocre lot, though Hypnotic may be rather better than generally considered. She would have been at least 20 to 1 in the Oaks if not coupled with Bonnie Beryl and Foxglove, but took the track when she pleased and won like a fair sort of filly.
