LIBERTY ROAD was quick to settle in his stride, showed speed while racing straight and had speed in reserve. GOLD BULL reared at the start, recovered quickly, improved position and finished well. FRIENDLY DON, a prominent factor all the way, hung nearing the finish. ANECDOTE was well up from the beginning. JOHN KENNEY finished well. SWIFT TOWN improved his position steadily on the outside, responded t: urging in the stretch and got up in the final strides. OPEN PALM was sent through on the inside of the stretch run and closed with good courage. OKEETEE dwelt at the start, found clear passage on the inside, withstood determined opposition from STAGE SET, then faltered at the end. STAGE SET, in nearest pursuit of the pace from the beginning, faltered at the end. KING PRETTY had no mishap. MISS VIKING tired. SWEET TIDE finished on own courage when saddle slipped. MAGELLAN was sent into command after the start, was steadied along, drew away at the far turn and was under pressure in the final furlong to stave off GREAT RUSH. The latter was outrun in the first part, came to the outside entering the stretch and finished with a rush. DAMOS raced forwardly all the way and had no mishap. LUCIFER was placed under urging at the far turn and improved his position slowly. FLYING FORT was well up in the early stages, then tired. PLUCKY BOY saved ground. SUGAR REPORT had no excuse.
