Detroit Novice Riding Class Largest in Tracks History FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 24. — The Detroit novice riding class of 1946 is the largest thus far at the Motor City track. The embryo jockeys are to ride three winners in novice races before they are eligible to take part in regular races. Entries for the novice class contests are to be limited to eight starters and the youngsters will not be permitted to carry whips. H. W. Fry is to make all novice riders engagements. The 1945 riding academy here produced such saddlesmiths as Joseph Anthony Li-causi, presently leading rider at Narragan-sett; Terry Sullivan, who is here with the Earl Breezley stable and Don Adams, who is attached to the unit trained by Monte Parke.
