PETRIFIED, never far back, was sent up on the rail to be with the pace, then was gradually drawing clear after taking command. FAST TEMPO forced the pace on the outside and showed a good effort. KARAKORUM, eased back on the backstretch, lost considerable ground coming out of the turn and finished strongly. BORDER MAN lost much ground rounding the turn. ATOMIC ENERGY gave way gradually when unable to obtain the lead on the backstretch. WHITE-FORD TET gave way in the closing furlong. WAR PAGE was knocked back at the start. INFINOTTO quit. SEGUNDO SOMBRA, unhurried in the opening stages, went up between horses on the turn, disposed of the leaders on the outside and drew away. DR. RUSH was compelled to lose considerable ground on the turn and entering the drive, challenged boldly in the stretch, but was not good enough. LEO RED worked his way up between, horses and finished well. JAMERICA had no excuse. DRESSER tired. CONTORTIONIST showed nothing. MAGIC TOUCH quit after making the pace for six furlongs. ECHO BEACH trailed for six furlongs moved up between horses through the drive and wore down GOLD CALL in the closing stride. The latter, prominent from the start, took the lead briefly Just before the finish and just missed. POLITICS came to the inside when clear in command in the backstretch and faltered near the end. FLORIZAN JANE was a sharp factor between horses and had no excuse. DIEXTOL lacked speed, caught, tired horses and came out of the race in distress. PERT lost ground. LITTLE HARE ran out coming out of the turn and carried out RUSSIAN ACTION. SIDNEY SUE quit after racing forwardly until the drive. COUNT QUICK turned in a dull effort. SAMMIES IMAGE, within striking distance from the break, went up between horses when called upon, disposed of HUSKY SAILOR and drew away. The latter established a clear lead and came to the inside after a quarter, then weakened badly in the final sixteenth. TEDDY.REIGH saved ground while with the pace and tired in the drive. RICHAVOO lost some ground all the way and gave way in the final quarter. BIMONT lacked speed and should improve when sent a longer distance. JIMPIN was through after a half. LYDS BOY was outrun. SGT. MISS STEPHANIE sprinted into a clear lead quickly, made the pace under light restraint and maintained her advantage until the end, winning easily. LADY MARQUEST was slow to gain her best stride, moved up between horses to be nearest the winner, but could not menace. KALIMERA, away fast, dropped back while bearing out rounding the turn, then came on with good courage when straightened for the. drive. VISIONAL, eased back for lack of room on the rail on the-turn, went up between horses to be best of the others. ONE ROSE lost ground coming out of the turn after trailing in the early stages. JOHNIES BOBBIE, away poorly, went up on the inside with a rush to be prominent and tired. MERRYTOWN quit. PATTYS BEACON had brief speed and gave way. The latter was reserved early, lost ground-while moving up and closed resolutely, LEAPOLINO was well placed from the start, went up between horses and showed a good effort. TRICKY DEAL was blocked and taken up attempting to forge through on the rail in the stretch, then was bothered again by the winner. WELL WISHER lost some -ground early, then faltered in the final furlong. PAPER CLIP had no excuse. STAR GRADUATE was outrun. GOOD LOOK quit.
