Phalanx, Mother, Nasophar Join Whitney Delaware Unit DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 11. — A trio of stakes runners, led by Phalanx, leading three-year-old of 1947, reinforced the Delaware Park division of the C. V. Whitney stable. Others in the shipment from New York are Mother, a candidate for the New Castle Handicap to be run June 18 and Nasophar, who will be pointed for the Delaware Oaks on July 4. While Phalanx is scheduled to make his seasonal debut at Delaware Park, there is some doubt as to whether he will be ready to travel the mile and a quarter of the Sussex Handicap to be run on June 25.
