WINE LIST outsprinted NOBLE IMPULSE without too much effort, was cleverly rated while establishing the pace, turned back challenges entering the stretch and drew clear under mild urging. COLONEL MIKE, under restraint while within striking distance, rallied willingly on the final turn, reached the leaders entering the stretch, but was no match for the winner. HEDGEW00DD moved well to the stretch and weakened. NOBLE IMPULSE, hard held while in the runner-up position, was roused nearing the stretch to challenge for the lead, then flattened out. REVEILLE had no chance with the bad start. LADY DORIMAR faltered after racing forwardly. BENVENUTO quit badly after five furlongs. CURANDERO, like REVEILLE, was eliminated with the start. HASH NIGHT was taken under steadying restraint in the early stages, was not roused until the three-eighths post, swerved to the inside, assumed command in the early stretch and withstood the late rally of INSEPARABLE. The latter, rated off the first flight, challenged from the outside, but was not good enough. HALCONERO moved well to the stretch and tired. GAI PROPOS rallied too late to threaten. OCEAN FRONT flattened out. BAYEUX raced with the leaders throughout, assumed a slight lead briefly at the quarter pole, then was crowded when HASH NIGHT wrested command and drifted to the inside. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. WARSHIP rallied nicely under urging, reached the leader in midstretch and won under a drive. EDDIEOW improved his position from the outside to the guarter pole, continued on gamely when drifting to the inside, but was no match for the winner. GALLANT BULL held a commanding lead much of the distance and drifted out while tiring badly. SARACEN MISS faltered after pressing the pace. SMART EDDIE was forwardly placed to the stretch and swerved while tiring. RADIATE II. could not seriously threaten. ANNA HANNIGAN showed nothing. WARSHIP injured his rider in the starting gate and it was necessary to secure a new jockey, which accounted for the long post delay.
