JOCKEY STONE LOSES HIS LICENSE. New York, September 30. At a meeting of the executive committee of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association today, the jockey license granted II. Stone by the stewards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association was suspended for the balance of the year 1007. W. S. Vosburgh, S. S. Howlaud and Harry Page composed the committee which took the foregoing action. It is believed that the present severe ruling against Stone, who was formerly a gentleman jockey, can be traced directly back to a suspicious looking ride on Mr. McCann in an important steeplechase event at Sheepshead Bay in which the Thomas horse started a hot favorite and finished a beaten off third. In view of Mr. McCanns remarkable Improvement last Saturday his previous race seemed to call for an investigation.
