JACK HARE JR. WORKS FAST HALF MILE NEW ORLEANS, La., December 0. Jack Hare Jr., Colonel W. E. Applegates crack sprinter, gave the work watchers at the Fair Grounds something to talk about Thursday morning when he worked a half mile in 48 simply cantering. He ran the first quarter in 22 is and the three-eighths in 35. It has been a long time since a race was run that fast at the old track, and works that fast are few and far between over the new course, which is much better than the old. Jack Hare Jr. was never better in his life than right now. and he is going to show the local turfmen what real miming is when he gees to the post.
