Big fields paraeled in the majority of the eight races and close finishes resulted in the majority of them. One of these occurred in the second race in which San Hedron was hard pressed to j stall off Dustproof after showing the wav .- throughout The latter made a gallant effort t to get o the winner but was not good 1 enough. Freemason made good in the opening dash. * Assuming command on the far turn, he held * Captain Clover and Faber. the earlv leader safe during the stretch test. I enora" P. was crowded into the fence at the first turn and . jockey Rausser injured his leg and was I forced to pull his mount up. After piloting * Phenol in the following race he was forced 1 to cancel his engagement in the third race. Showing the way by a comfortable margin 1 throughout Blossom House scored a handy victory in the third race. Yakima raced in closest pursuit by a safe margin but Dr. Huff barely saved third from Super Lady.
