Suffolks 1943 State Revenue Reaches Million-Dollar Mark BOSTON, Mass., June 23.— The Commonwealth of Massachusetts will receive its millionth dollar from Suffolk Downs pari-mutuel play in the third race of todays card. The total for the first 38 days paid to the Commonwealth by Suffolk Downs from mutuel play is 92,701.17. The return to the Commonwealth on the first 75,000 on the thirty-ninth day will be approximately ,437. making a total as follows: 38 days, 92,701.17. First three races and "Daily Double" thirty-ninth day, ,437.50. Total ,000,-138.67. Suffolk Downs gave the Commonwealth its millionth dollar on the forty-ninth day of the 1942 meeting when the total of ,199,904.29 was paid by the track to the Commonwealth from mutuel play. Payments to the Commonwealth for the 60-day meeting in 1943 from mutuel play are estimated at ,530,000.
