Large Starting Line-Up For Bunker Hill Seen More Than Twenty of Nominees Are on Grounds and in Training SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., June 12. — With the issuance of weight assignments for the twelfth running of the 0,000 Bunker Hill Handicap, the field for that one mile event for older horses which will feature the holiday card on Monday, June 17, shapes as an extra large one as more than 20 of the nominees are on the grounds and in advanced training. While Morris Wexlers British Buddy was given the top weight assignment of 122 pounds by racing secretary John P. Turner, the Pilate colt is listed as a doubtful starter. Spangled Game, who races for the partnership of Mrs. R. Metcalf and the Ber Mar farms and a winner his last out, will probably be the high weight of the starting field with 121 pounds. H. Ted Darlings West Fleet, winner of the 0,000 Plymouth Rock Handicap here on opening day, will carry 120 pounds and is another heavily weighted performer expected to start. A. F. Plocks Ellis, who gets in with 119 pounds, is in the same category. Other possible starters and their weight assignments include Sam Garfields Shiny Penny and the Cresson Farms Valdina Lamar, 114; Longchamps Farms Apropiado and Little River Stables Johnny Jr., 113 each; C. F. Herrmanns Float Me. 112, and Longchamps Bill Hardey, E. A. Simpsons Take Away and H. G. Bedwells Hammer-Lock, all at 111 pounds. William Helis Adonis, winner of the Travers Stakes in New York last year, and the Sandy Lane Farms Elmo T. and Morris Wexlers Plebiscite get in with 110, while the Oak-hill Stables Boy Soldier, Harry Stutts Golden Thorn, Sam Garfields F. B. Eye, J. and A. Beattie s Linwood Jim. and Mort Stuarts Ogham have been assigned 109 pounds. M. Belascos Easy Chance and R. B. Carrolls Winsome Lad were assigned 108 pounds and are expected to accept the assignment as is H. G. Bedwells Sollure. a winner here Tuesday who gets in with 107 pounds. The Donna Maria Farms Valdina Craft. I winner of the Governors Handicap here ! a year ago, turned in good effort Tuesday ! and will carry 106 pounds to the post. S. | D. Sidells St. Jock, who is asked to carry I 105 pounds, is also expected to start.
