J., June 16.— Thir- teen stake races, with added money of 30,000, will feature he Atlantic City Racing Associations coming meeting, Au- gust 11 through October 4. This marks an increase of 7,500 in stake money over last year at the track on Black Horse Pike, just 14 miles outside this famous seashore resort. Stake books listing the 13 specials and their conditions are now available. Entries for each of the events will close three weeks in advance of running, the first closing date being July 21 for the Pageant Handicap, 0,000 six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds, which features the opening program of the meeting. Eight of the features will be run on the main track with the other five on the popular turf course. Top grass race is the Atlantic City Turf Handicap, for 3-year-t olds and up, at one mile and three-six-1 teenth with 5,000 added. Best on the main track will be the Olympic Stakes, also for 3-year-olds and up, at one mile and a furlong, 0,000 added feature of closing day. In past years the closing-day attrac- tion has been the All-American Handi-cap, for the same age group, at a mile and I a quarter, but this 5,000 event will be run this year on September 20 to avoid a a conflict with a somewhat similar event in i New York. Two Other Sophomore Stakes In addition to the Pageant, there are two other stakes for 3-year-olds, both ; carded for the turf course. The Ventnor, at one mile and one-sixteenth, carries ad-J ded money of 0,000, while the Philadelphia Turf Handicap, a new feature, at the one-mile distance with 5,000 added. The Ventnor will be run on September 27 and i the Philadelphia, September 6. Three of the features are for 2-year- * olds, all at six furlongs on the main track, with the top value 0,000, being added to j the Worlds Playground Stakes on Septem- . ber 24. The remaining four stakes are all for . 3-year-olds and up, with one, the Mermaid 1 Handicap, for fillies and mares, at the six- 1 furlong distance, August 30, with added 1 money of 5,000.
