Won handily; second easily. RIan was waited with until straightened out for the final run before making a move and shook off the leaders at the furlong post, but had to be hard ridden at the end to stall off Taplola. The latter finished with a rush and wearing the winner down. Merry Acrobat was much used in racing Arc Light into defeat and pulled up very lame. Small Talk and Blue Flame ran well. Glisten was sore when going to the post and ran poorly. Town Moor got caught iu a jam on the first turn and stumbled, unseating his rider. Overweights Small Talk. 2 pounds; Little Wally. 3j. Room Mate broke with the leaders and raced Marco Into defeat, but had to stand a hard drive all of the last furlong to stall off Mattie II. The latter ran close up and, finishing with a rush, was catching the winner at every stride. Alcantara was cut off and knocked back soon after the start and made up gronnd, but Mc-Intyre put up a weak finish when it came to a drive. Marco ran well to the stretch and tired. Golden Link went well, but tired In the last quarter and the race should about tighten him up for a bruising contest. Rip fenced badly In the first turn of the field, pecked at a couple of the jumps and lost ground and tired In the final drive. Conclave moved up fast while going to the ninth jump, but tired under a drive. Picktime unseated his rider at the first jump. Little Elkin outgamed Iole in the final drive and just managed to get up in time to get second place. Iole was much used iu setting the pace and tired In the stretch. Handmore went fairly well. Water Dog began slowly and was cut off and interfered with in the run down the backstretch, came through on the inside at the turn into the homestretch and, finishing with a rush, outgamed Polly Prim and won going away. Polly Prim raced Gentian and Lady Charade into retirement, but had nothing left when the winner challenged. Cambridge made up gronnd and finished fast. Lady Charade showed much improvement. Gentian showed early speed, but failed to stay. Overweights Longbright. 2 pounds.
