Odd Trick ran away from her opponents while rounding the far turn and Austin managed to keep her straight and made a show of the others. Lathorne finished fast and gamely under a drive. Ronay began slowly, but closed up with a rush in the last furlong and was going much the fastest of all at the end and ran like a stayer. Lady Maia ran green, as also did Preciosa II. King of the Valley found a track to his liking for tlie first time during the meeting, ran well in hand until rounding the far turn, where lie moved up and took command quickly and was only cantering at the end. Ilelger-son finished with a rush after making a wide turn when entering the homestretch. Merlingo was made too much use of in the early stages and tired in the stretch. Woodshade quit after going five furlongs. Handmore began slowly and was crowded back on the first turn and closed a big .gap intp a fast going fourth. Woggle Bug went well. Emergency outclassed the others, was waited with until straightened out for the final run before making his move, took command quickly when called on and won going away. Lucy Young closed up gamely In the stretch, but tired after getting to the winner. Careless set a fast pace, but tired in the last quarter. Nattie Bumppo was much used in trying to keep pace with Careless and quit in the stretch. Huzzah is improving and will do over a longer route when properly placed. Fugurtha aud Skyward showed speed, but were used up in setting the pace. There was a jam when the start came and Nom de Plume went down and Wlshard pulled Marlin up. Beecher is a quick beginner, slipped through next to the inside rail while rounding the first turn and opened up 11 winning lead on the backstretch, but was tiring at the end and doing his best to stall off Fonsoluca. Tlie latter was cut off a couple of times on the backstretch, but ran a good race and finished gamely. Big Bow, outrun in the early stages, finished with a great burst of speed and was gaining on tlie leaders at the end. Libation ran head and bead with Telepathy all through tlie last quarter and got his nose in front in the last nod. Telepathy broke in motion, set a fast pace and Was unlucky to lose. Cascine met with some interference in the early stages, but ran a bad race. Room Mate closed a big gap. Dance Music began slowly and dropped out in tlie first quarter and probably likes a heavy track best. Oro Viva showed speed, but tired. Chamblee .went well. Dazzle got off badly and had no chance. Overweights Balsbot, 3J pounds.
