WILLIAMS STABLE UNDER INVESTIGATION. Oakland Stewards Order Withdrawal of Nint Spot Dixie Lad Gets Owner Into Trouble. Oakland, Cal., February 20. "Dick" Williams Nine Spot, In the fourth race at Oakland today was withdrawn by order of the stewards pending the result of the present investigation into the crazy behavior of the horse Arrah Gowan yesterday. None of the horses from this stable will le allowed to participate in the local racing. The veterinary surgeons report as to whether the horse was "doped" will be heard at tonights meeting of the California Jockey Club stewards, when the case will be disposed of. W. H. Parker and his horse Dixie Lad were suspended directly after the victory of the latter over Orchan in the fourth race today. Inconsistent running is assigned as the reason for this action. It Is generally lielleved that it will go hard with this obscure offender. C. C. McCafferty also took a crack at him by bidding up the winner from 00 to 00. Parker retained his horse. Jockey Bonner has elected to make his reappearance In the saddle at Ascot Park. He can do 107 Kiinds and will be connected with the Spreckels establishment there under the charge of C. W. Carroll. Frank Kellys arrival from Los Angeles with the remainder of Dr. J. Grant Lymans horses brought out an announcement of the Intended sale of the whole establishment at auction next Saturday. C. C. McCafferty declares that the sale of Toupee to C. E. Durnell was entirely "regular." He is loud in his declaration of innocence and says he will sell out all of his horses except Dr. Leggo. He announced this afternoon that lie had sold Tain OShanter, Yo San, J. K. F. and Mogregor to E. Bedenbeck, but they didnt get very far away, since Bedenbeck is the foreman of his stable and filled a similar position with J. J. McCafferty.
