Van Loan, running in improving form, soon established a small lead and, holding it to the stretch, suddenly drew and won going away. Commida ran lapped on the winner to tl.e stretch and easily outstayed Tom Gilroy for second place. The latter finished witii a rush under a vigorous ride. Lord Rossington ran a fairly good race. Rubinon was always iu forward contention and finished gamely, but tiring. Charles Green showed early speed, but tired in the stretch drive. Creston Boy showed decided improvement. The latter showed the most early speed and ran a good race, but tired in the last sixteenth. Bribery ran a bad race and can do much better. The others were always outrun.
