Belle of the Bay, suddenly improved, wore Odd Trick down when turning into the homestretch and the pair fought it out closely all through the last sixteenth and Belle of the Bay got her head in front in the last few strides. Odd Trick is a rapid breaker and rushed away from her opponents in the first furlong, but tired in the last eighth. Boserrian ran well and outlasted Tom Dolan alter being under punishment all of the last furlong. Tom Dolan ran disappointingly. Oratorlan broke with the leaders and rushed to the front, raced Brick Top into defeat in the first half and had something left to stall otf Bill Carters challenge at the end. The latter saved ground on the far turn and .slipped through on the inside on the turn into the homestretch and finished gamely under a drive. The Only Way had to work his way up-on-the- outside and outstayed Mayor Duncan in the stretch-run. -Long-bright closed a big gap. Brick Top showed good speed to the stretch. Pat Bulger ran a good race, but was tiring at the end and Nicol eased him up. Alma Dufour ran a very bad race, but outlasted Grosgrain. Shawana showed little speed at any. stage of the trip. Orbicular finished fast, caught Jack Dolan tiring and was going away Iran him at the end. Jack Dolan was saved from the fast pace of the first half, but could not get to .the leaders when Morrison called on him. Merely Mary Ann ran fairly well. Phiora, showing sudden improvement, ran a good race, was hard pressed all the way and gamely stood a hard drive throughout the homestretch to stall off Clique. Clique ran next to the rail for the entire trip and, saving much ground, finished fast and gamely. Major Carpenter went a bit wide on the turn into the homestretch, where he lost a couple of lengths, but finished gamely under a drive and shook off. Death and Two Penny in the last sixteenth. Lineal closed a big gap. Two Penny ran in the middle of the track from stnrt to finish and covered more ground than any of those which beat him. Silent Water was crowded back soon after the start and was eased up in the, last eighth. Death ran well to the stretch. Miiadi Love ran poorly. fil ff SIXTH RACE 1 3-8 Miles. No track record.
