HEARING AT ALBANY TODAY. New York, March 13. r-The racing interests will receive a hearing at Albany tomorrow and many strong arguments in favpr of the turf will be set forth. The greatest opposition to the anti-betting bill has developed among the rural citizens whose agricultural fairs receive an annual donation of about 00,000, .the amount of the State racing tax. AVithout this monev the agricultural societies of the State could. not live unless the money was voted to them by the Legislature, a plan that has been suggested by the advocates of reform, headed bv Anthony- Comstoek, who lives In New Jersey. That racing is immensely popular with all classes cannot bo denied. In fact, beyond a few professional reformers who have persistently attacked the sport.- turfmen declare that there are no real antagonists but that as a matter of truth the pponle do not want to see the tracks closed and the big stakes abolished.
