SHIELDS DEPARTS IN A HURRY. New Orleans, La., March 13. Alex. Shields made a hurried departure tonight for New York. Shields had big bets on St. Valentine at the old track and nn Bill Carter at City Park. In all he lost something like 0,000 on the two horses and he could not get out of town quick enough. Shields ordered all his horses shipped to his farm at Bound Brook at once.
