Helmuth was lucky in escaping the crowding that happened soon after the start, quickly took the lead and, showing good speed, kept it, but had to be hard ridden at the finish to withstand the challenge of Ronav. The latter made up ground and finished Willi a rush. AVabash Queen was crowded back at the start and sooii got into contention, but was tiring at the end. Lythelist got away poorly and ran an impressive race, finishing with a rush. Abelard got awav with a running start and showed speed, but tired in the stretch. Simplicity ran well. James R.
