ORBICULAR MAKES A GOOD SHOWING. New Orleans, La.. March 13. Form players were in sore straits at City Park this afternoon, while those who take stable information as a guide to their speculation, made the bookmakers wish they were in China or some other place. Six of the seven winners were well backed at remunerative odds and tin? books suffered accordingly. Minnie Adams was the only favorite to win. but the money wagered on the favorites did not off-set the money paid out on the long shots. Jockey Swain rode his first winner at the meeting, when he landed Lochgoil first in the seventh raee. J. II. Baker furnished two of the winners in Oratorian and Lochgoil. Orbidular loomed up as a dangerous factor in the City Iark Derby when he finished second to Minnie Adams in the fourth race this afternoon. It was the way he finished when Troxler called on him in the last iiuarter that opened the eyes of those who have not been taking Orbiculars chances seriously. From the head of the stretch to the winning mark Orbicular was timed separately in 24 seconiis. The last eighth in llj. He worked out a mile and a furlong in 1:53?. good enough time to beat almost any three-year-old here.
