HALLS DEFENSE DECIDEDLY UNIQUE. New Orleans, La., March 23. Jockey D. Hall Is in good standing again. It is said that evidence was produced to the effect that Pat Bulger was a much distressed horse after his race on Saturday last and that "he coughed up chunks of mud." News of the reinstatement was in most instances received with smiles. "I do not recall that the track was sloppy or heavy that day," said one sage among the turfmen. "So I wonder where Pat Bulger got that mud." "Maybe Pat was bred in Georgia," remarked another. ".You know, there are some clay eaters, iu that state."
