OAKLAND WINNERS HEAVILY SUPPORTED, Graphite and Roycroft Mediums of Big Coups Hard Rains and a Bad Track. San Francisco Cal., March 23. Torrential rains converted the Oakland race course into a canal this afternoon. There were, however, few withdrawals, unusually large fields competing In the majority of the races. All the winners and four were favorites received support in the betting. Bl coups were brought off over the victories- of Graphite -and Roycroft, the last named In particular, being the medium of some of the heaviest betting seen at the track in a long time. W. L. Oliver left for New York last night. His horses, including Lord Badge, Hoot Mon and others, were shipped from Ascot Park last week, their destination being Washington, D. C. Wee Lass was bid up from 00 to ,100 by D, Sullivan, but retained by her owner. Shady Lad was also "boosted" from 00 to 00 and bought In.
