SAY CALIFORNIA HAY CAUSES SKIN DISEASE. New York, June 25. Some one has started the absurd rumor that California hay is responsible for the cases of skin disease among thoroughbreds here and that it was primarily responsible for the malady that caused the death of Sysonby. Joe McCarthy, who saw Mr. Keenes horse shortly before his death, diagnosed it as a case of "farcy," commonly called "glanders," for which there was no cure but a bullet. McCarthy says that the symptoms and general apjiearance of the horse were exactly the same as those that ended the career of the American Derby winner, C- II. Todd. It is now said that Olseau, another celebrity, is similarly afilicted.
