ROCK SAND IS DUE TO ARRIVE MONDAY. New York, July 14. Rock Sand, the celebrated son of Sainfoin, for which August Belmont paid 25,000 In April, is due to arrive from England on the steamship Minneapolis Monday. Mr. Belmont has decided that the horse Is not to stay over in New York for Inspection by the curious. A quick trip to the Nursery Stud at Lexington, Ky., has been planned. Herbert Temple, the shipping agent In the Adams Express Companys horse department, will meet the steamship at the pier in North River with a float which will bear a specially equipped baggage car. Rock Sand will be loaded on this car without delay and ferried over to the Pennsylvania station. There the car will be attached to the St. Louis Express, one of the fastest; of the Pennsylvanias westbound flyers. Rock Sand will be whirled toward his future Kentucky home via Pittsburg, Columbus and Cincinnati. They are ready at the Nursery Stud for the reception of Rock Sand, which, directly upon his arrival, will become the head of the big breeding establishment of the chairman of The Jockey Club. Rock Sand will replace Hastings, and next spring the best mares Mr. Belmont owns will be mated with. him.
