CANADAS OLDEST TURFMAN IS DEAD. Sandwich, Ont, July 14. Henry Chappell, tha veteran turfman, who is said to have brought the first thoroughbred horse into Canada, Is dead at his home here, ne was born near Rochester, N. Y., eighty-three years ago. He began his career on tha turf as a jockey when a mere boy and has been connected with the racing world ever since. Horses owned by him twice won the Queens Plate.
