Yorkshire Lad, suddenly improved and away well, moved up gradually, caught the leader tiring in the stretch and won going away. Suffice, from a lucky start, forced the pace to the final sixteenth ami ran a . fast and game race. Lady Ellison, outpaced in the early running, closed up rapidly In the last hair and was iwcketed next to the rail, but got up for third place in the last strides. Earl Rogers broke slowly, but quickly took a prominent position and was a keen contender for the last six furlongs and seemed to have gotten up for second place in a good race. Melbourne Nominee, nearly left, closed an iuirnense gap. Listless showed superior speed for seven furlongs. Ancestor, Jennie McCabe and Gallant were as gojd as left at the post. Yania Christy, sore In front, after going the first half, was always in nearest attendance on the lender, beating the others off. Follow On kept well up, finished a distant third and was mistakenly ridden out. Olcroso showed good early speed, but blundered at the fourth jump. Gypsic went moderately well. Alctheuo, away slowly, moved up .steadily and finished with a rush, but was unable to quite get up. Belcast had a good position throughout and was a fast giing fourth. Tourenne, knocked to the rear at the start, made up a lot of ground and is a good looker. Arcite, on the inside, was shut off, bumped and put out of commission nt the start. Core was under early pressure to keep within striking distance of the leader aud, under punishment on the lasf turn, appeared beaten, but under Millers persistent efforts, finally wore Royal Breeze down. The latter made the runuing easily and, when beginning the last furlong, appeared a sure winner, with Ilennessy -glancing backward, was suddenly caught at the end. Yorkist, away slowly on the inside, improved his "posUim and loomed up well in the stretch, but was not good enough. Master Lester was nearly left and made up much ground. Flowaway was never dangerous and can do better. Monfort, shut off at the start and trying to bore to the outside, had no chance. Berkeley showed fine early speed. Garnish, from a flying start, raced into a long lead, which he increased steadily to the stretch, where he was finally brought to a drive to beat Agile. The latter got away poorly, was knocked alout on the first turn, closed an immense gap in the middle half and. in a belated end sprint, barely failed to get up. Orly, a very slow beginner and frequently shut off and pulling up on the last turn, closed up fast at the end and ran a good race. Belgravia finished with a rush and is a greatly improved filly. Belle of Pequest was interfered with and came fast in the stretch. Bobbie Kean and Grenade showed superior speed, but tired in the stretch. Miss Ogdeii set the early pace under a pull and was under restraint when Suffrage passed her and unexpectedly finished fast, running a peculiar looking race. Nemesis got away slowly, was repeatedly interfered with aud taken up, never bad a chance, but finished well with clear sailing. Hera came from far back in the rear and was a fast going fifth.
