MANY WITHDRAWALS AT LATONIA. Cincinnati, O.. July 17. The ordinary program offered at Latonia today was still further depleted hy scratches on account of the condition of the track, which was deep and heavy. Only six of the sixteen named to go faced the starter in the sixth race. However, most of the horses that started were mud runners of known ability and the betting was just about as lively as though the track had remained fast. The twenty bookmakers had a profitable day. Miltiadcs, which took the feature race, scored impressively and stamped himself a superior horse In muddy going. John L. Inglis might have given him a stout argument, hut was away poorly and received .1 bungling ride. The judges will give "Monk" Cohnrn another chance. He will be permitted to accept mounts, beginning next Monday, on his promise to behave in the future. Jockey E. Morrison broke his collarlmne for the second time yesterday while riding Wooldealer in the steeplechase. Fred Luzader will come here with his horses in a few days. J. K. F., as the result of his injury in the last race, will probably never he raced again. J. C. Yeager is trying to secure several horses to campaign here.
