PRICKLES IS A BUSY FILLY. William Short, who is racing at Seattle, owns Prickles, the four-year-old chestnut filly, by Knight of the Thistle Medallion, and Prickles is having a strenuous career. She ran in a race at Seattle, June 29, and after cooling out, was walked several miles to the dock and put alioard a steamer for Vancouver, B. C, where she arrived next morning. She was started in a mile race that afternoon and ran Wenrick a dead heat. Resting over Sunday she started Monday in a handicap at one and one-quarter miles, but failed to get a place. Tuesday afternoon she was beaten a whisker in another handicap. Twenty-five minutes later she was running In a six furlong race and made an excellent showing. After the races she was walked five miles to the dock and shipped back to Seattle, walking the distance from the dock to Seattle racetrack late the next afternoon. The following Friday, after two days rest, she was started in the fourtii race and won in a common canter.
