GOLD ENAMEL WINS FORT ERIE FEATURE. Buffalo. N. Y., July 17. The talent was up against it again today at Fort Erie. Only one favorite rewarded their confidence. The card had as its features a handicap at six and a half furlongs and a steeplechase over the short course. The steeplechase brought out a field of six. The public went to Gold Run, but C.nlistan was in :i running and jumping mood. Getting off in the lead, he never was headed. Trenct the Mere fell at the first jump, was remounted and ran out at the second, hut Graham brought him lock onlv to come to grief again at the seventh jump. The jockey was carried to the clubhouse in an unconscious condition, hut soon afterwards recovered. Gold Enamel, in any easy manner, disposed of his company in the handicap. Peter Paul after finishing ran away a mile.
