IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE AT BRIGHTON. New York, August 2. Architects and contractors are now working on plans for general and extensive improvements on the Brighton Beach Racing Associations plant. Work, however, will not begin, until after the fall meeting. The grandstand Is to have a comfortable extension on the end next to the betting ring. The capacity of the field stand will be doubled. There will be some improvements in the betting ring also. The infield will be filled in for several feet and a lawn with grass, similar to that at Belmont Park, will be the result. Landscape gardeners will be put to work, and all around the backstretch trees will be planted. A row of trees planted this spring already decorates a portion of the backstretch, but more will be added. There has been scarcely a day during the present meeting that every seat in the grandstand has not been occupied. As for the field, It has been packed every day and the need for more room there has become Imperative.
