Marquis de Carabas ran under restraint for the first three furlongs, then worked his way to the front on the outside and drew away at his leisure at the end. Butinskle did not leave the post with his usual burst of speed and had a lot taken out of him on the turn from the backstretch, where he rushed to the leaders and opened up a lengths lead, but tired under punishment in the stretch. Teddy broke fully in motion and showed a fine turn of speed for the first three-eighths. Gay Boy ran fairly well only. Prairie Flower II. finished well. Silver Heels showed speed. Won driving; second and third the same. Lady Demon rushed to the front when the start came and, setting a fast pace, opened up a winning lead on the far turn, but was tiring at the end. Lady Bateman was a keen contender all the way, faltered at the eighth post, but came again under- a drive and ontlasted Crosscut. The latter was outrun for the first three furlongs, but closed up on the turn Into the homestretch and made a determined challenge at the furlong post, but tired In the final drive. Benevole was off well and showed early speed, but quit when the real contention came: Merry Leap Year likes a soft track and longer route. Fleeting Star broke through the barrier and ran away two miles, her saddle slipped and Mountain could not pull her up. Scratched 4M20S Zanliss, 102. Cardigan stumbled at a couple of the jumps after landing and was sharply cut off when he attempted to come through after taking the next to the last jump, losing three or four lengths, but finished fast and outgamed Sartor Resartus when it came to the drive in the, stretch run on the Bat. Sartor Resartue showed much speed and stuck it out longer than usual. Sam Parmer wore down Madoc and just managed to get up in the final stride. Trenct the Mere pulled up lame after making one turn of the field. Bally-castle ran a dull race. i Scratched 5.3855 Billy Ray, 138. Highland Fling was outrun for a half, but weaved his way through the bunch on the far turn, came around the leaders when entering the homestretch and finished with a rush. Foxmead was crowded back at the start and had to go to the extreme outside to get up, ran the best race of all and came fast in the final drive. Bonnie Reg went to the leaders with a rush on the far turn, but tired under punishment In the stretch run. Usury showed early speed, but failed to stay. Charlie Eastman kept wheeling to the Inside and broke running, set a terrific pace and raced Hannibal Bey into subjection In the first five furlongs and drew away in the last sixteenth. Hannibal Bey ran with the winner all the way, was carried wide on the turn Into the homestretch, but came again at the end and outgamed Tickle in the final drive. Tickle moved up fast on the turn Into the homestretch, where she slipped through on the Inside, but was unable to Improve her position in the last furlong. Oratorlan waa well handled and saved from the early pace and, when rounding the far turn, moved up and went to the front with a rush when called on and fought it out all through the last furlong with Edwin Gum. The latter was outrun for the first half, but moved up fast on the turn out of the backstretch and raced Ancient Witch and Billy Benzing into defeat, appeared like the winner at the eighth post, but tired In the last sixteenth under a terrific drive. Jungle Imp closed up with a rush on the far turn, where he moved up on the extreme outside, but was carried wide on the turn Into the homestretch and tired. Ancient Witch and Billy Benzing showed speed, but set the early pace on sufferance. Scratched 04191" Redwood II., 101.
