WHERE TETANUS GETS HER NAME. Tetanus, one of Barney Schreibers fillies at La-tonia, received her name in a peculiar way. Three mohths lefore Tetanus was foaled, Margery, her dam, was taken with lockjaw and had to be put In a sling and kept there for a considerable period. It was only with great difficulty that she was saved. Dr. Crowiey, the St.. Louis veterinarian who was called In to attend her, remarked: "If this mares foal lives It will be Inimune from lockjaw."- "In that event," said trainer Klrwin, "I will name It Tetanus:" The filly is uuderslzed, but Is growing and, as she has shown some speed In her three races, she may yet repay the trouble that was experienced In rearing her under extraordinary difficulties.
