EASTERN STAKES THIS WEEK. In all, seven slake races will he decided at Brighton Beach in the course of the present -week, the 5,000 Brighton Junior Stakes being the most important of the seven in respect to value. The Jirst to lie run is the Undergraduate Slakes at five and a half furlongs for two-year-olds, which is the feature of the card for tomorrow afternoon. It is a selling race and the names of the probable starters appear in the entry list published in this Issue. The Iroquois Stakes at a mile and a quarter for three-year-olds will be run Tuesday. It is of the value of ,500, with Salvidere, Ballot, Philander, Zambesi, Don Enrique, Monfort, Yankee Girl, Hickory, Saracinesca and Oran most prominent of the cTigibles. It may be in reserve for Salvidere to achieve his first success of 1007 in this event. The Montauk Slakes for two-year-olds at three-quarters of a mile is to be decided Wednesday. Some excellent two-year-olds are engaged here, the names of Fair Flay, Black Oak, Chapultepec, Royal Vane, Johnnie Blake, Zagg, Hessian, Transvaal, Meelick, Troublesome, Field Marshal, Ziephen, Ben Fleet, Harcourt, Walter Miller, Sanguine and Alauda appearing among the entries. If Johnnie Blake makes his New .York debut here much interest will atlacli to his meeting higher class youngsters than lie triumphed over on the northern circuit tracks. The Test Handicap at a mile for three-year olds and over is an event of importance, and will be run Thursday afternoon.. Roseben, Charles Edward, Suffrage, Court Dress, Lotus Eater, Flip Flap, Fountalnblue, W. II. Daniel, Kentucky Beau, Dreamer, First Premium, Tony Faust, Cressina, Superman, Coy Maid, Cottontown, Kings Daughter, Frank Gill, Oraculum, Cairngorm, Jack Atkin, Far West, Dr. Gardner, Wexford, Martin Doyle, Electioneer, Killaloe and Red River are among the fleet horses nominated. Obviously, with conditions of track and weather favoring, a very fast mile may bo recorded 1iere. As is always the case at the Beach, Friday is devoted to purses alone, and this is made up for by the assignment of three stake races to Saturday afternoon, being the Seashore Handicap for thrce-ycar-olds and over at a mile and a quarter; the Brighton Junior Slakes for two-year-olds at three-quarlers of a mile, and the Brighton Steeplechase over the full course of about two and a half miles. Lotus Eater, Blandy, W. II. Carey, Miss Crawford, Nealon, Tcmaceo, Red Friar, Yankee Girl, Tangle, Beacon Light, Dandelion, Confederate, Red Leaf, Philander, Zambesi, Von Tromp, Dan Buhre and Oraculum arc among the horses from which- the Seashore field will probably come. The all-conquering Colin is in the Brighton Junior, and so are Stamina, Ben Fleet, Seymour Beutler, Golden Pearl, Masque, King James, Chapultepec, Magazine, Smoker, Long Ball, Monopolist, Rara Avis, Ormuz and Stargowan. The Brighton Is the chief jumping race of the meeting, and having 5,000 added, is among the most important events for the timber toppers. Good and Plenty, Hylas, Grandpa, Pioneer, Commodore Fontaine, Yama Christy; Al-fur. Hot Shot, Delcanta, T. S. Martin, Sanctus, Sheriff Williams, Palm, Sinister, Collguy, Gatebell and El Cuchlllo are among the ellglbles.
