Lois Cavanagh was in nearest pursuit of the winner to the stretch, where she tired. Montauk held his early position under pressure and finished with a belated stretcli rush. Punch steadily improved his position from an indifferent start. Bonton closed a big gap. Suzerain, nearly left, linished well. Sir Clegcs liegan slowly anil steadily improved his position into a fast going third, was easily second best anil ran a remarkable lace. Raymond also came fast from the rear, lint went wide on the turn. Magazine tired finally after early strenuous and swift pursuit of the winner and excessively urged in the first half. Masque, outpaced and palpably handicapped by the going, kept at his work gamely throughout and is very promising, but best on a fast track. Ben Ban was always within striking distance of the first two and finished well, but was unable to get up under a weak ride. Gentian, well up, finished a good fourth. Handzarra showed a Hash of earlv speed, then dropped out and was pulled up. Orphan Lad got away badly and was pulling up on the backstretch. but finished fast into a game third. King Cole ran prominently throughout.
