Miss Vigilant was favored by the going am best and had to be to win, was sharply impeded in the early stages, hut finished fast when clear and won drawing out. Lady Handsel rushed into prominence from a poor send-oft and appeared a certain winner in the stretch, bur tired near the end. Edna Motter ran fairly well and was prominent most of the way. The Belle revelled in the going, wore down Lady Henrietta in the first three furlongs and came away in the stretch to win as her rider pleased. Lady Henrietta had no mishaps and did her best throughout. Dan McKcnna came from a long -way hack after saving much ground when turning into the stretch. Comic Opera was taken wide for the entire trip. Chief Deputy showed a brief flash of speed. The others were always outpaced. The winner was entered for 00; no hid. Bye Bye II., much the best, was ridden in a manner to bring .about his certain defeat, was ke:it directly in the rear of Toddles to the upper turn, where he was shut off, went wide into the stretch and, when going gamely, was pulled up near the end. Dele Strome went well and was mud the best of the others. June Time was never a threatening contender. The winner was entered for S1W00; no hid. Giles ran a good race, although going wide, and finished gamely. Whisk Broom showed the most early soeed, but tired under her impost and barely lasted long enough to retain third place. Ketcliemike had a rough trip, but came with a rush when clear and would have been third in another stride. Truro was shufllcd hack after going a quarter.
