1 J I ; 1 BETTER PRICES FOR YEARLINGS. New York, September 2. Forty-two yearlings from the McGrathiana and Oakwood Studs were sold by auction today forji total of 3,275. The high- est price was ,C00. paid by C. It. Ellison for the chestnut filly by Pirate or Penzance Lady Inez. This is a full-sister to Sliss Inez, which won many races for Ellison, and a half-sister to Yankee Consul, the good colt that Paul J. Bainey lost by death after having paid Sir. Ellison 5,000 or something like that sum for him. Frank J. Farrell paid ,500 for the hay filly by Slazagan Sallie of Navarre. This is a half-sister to Salvhlere. Parrell also paid ,500 for the bay colt by Wools-thorpe Oudalan. This is a half-brother to Cohort and is out of a half-sister to the dam of Dr. Gardner. J. J. Hyland bought the bay colt by Cesarion Lady J. for ,I5C0. This is a full-brother to Ladsarion. Prank J. Farrell paid a like sum for the chestnut colt by Woolsthorpe Pink Bose, dam of Slagazine.
