COLINS GOOD PADDOCK MANNERS. Colin Is always a gentleman In his paddock litha-vior, as. he is on the race track. After having been saddled for the Futurity he was led around in a circle between walls of enthusiastic admirers, hut withal was as gentle and quiet as a workhorse might have been. The New York newspapers, say he showed none of the nervousness nor unsteadiness of so many thoroughbreds, but seemed to take the admiration for him" as his just due. He was a perfect picture of a race horse, typical of all the qualities that go to make up a horse of the best class. Barring the disfigurement of an enlarged hock, which has decreased to a considerable extent since lie began racing at Belmont Park, there was not a Haw that could be picked in the appearance of Colin. On his return to the paddock the colt was in superb condition and there was no external evidences that he had had a hard race. He stood quietly while being cooled out and was led off to the stable without apparently having suffered in the least from his great struggle. Sir. Kecne, who saw the running of the race from the clubhouse, was warmly congratulated over the success of Colin. That Sir. Keene considers Colin the best horse he has ever raced is pretty well assured. "The interference which Colin met with at the start was not serious," said jockey Sillier after the running of the Futurity Saturday, "but by It I got into a pocket from which, there was no relief until we reached the bend. But when I found an opening and called on the colt, he came right along as he always does. He will do nothing more than you make him do, and I was rolling the whip at him all through the stretch, but did not use it. Ho is game, though, and had it been necessary to use the whip he would have won in faster time. He is undoubtedly a great horse, and I doubt if ever I am privileged to throw a leg over a better one."
