TAKING ADVANTAGE OF CONDITIONS. St. John, N. B.. November 14. The Provincial Government at its meeting on Tuesday commissioned Peter Clinch, of St. John, a prominent horseman, to represent them at the groat sale of thoroughbreds to be lield at Lexington, Ky.. on November 23. Mr. Clinch has authority to purchase twenty or more broodmares and half a dozen stallions, which will be sold to the farmers of the proyipec. In view of the anti-racing laws many of the big breeding establishments are going out of business, and the time is favorable to secure exceptional stock at low prices. The proposal met with Immediate favor. The idea is that the importation will have a lasting effect on the general utility horses of the pro? vince.
