Fargo Rose, alertly and vigorously ridden, drew out quickly and held, sway to the end. hut tired and just lasted long enough. Rosamo had a striding start, but lost ground in the middle running, then finished fast and wearing the leader down under a weak finish. The Drake, from a slow inside start, was outpaced early, but finished well. Captain Hansen, after forward pursuit to midway of the stretch, tired as if short. Osceola, away badly, closed a gap fast and was close up at the end. Adriana Lecouvreur showed brief early speed and was short. Bellwether, from a striding outside start, ran leisurely in forward early pursuit, then drew out suddenly on the last turn and won off. Anna May was reserved within striking distance pursuit to the stretch and finished a fast going second. Hereafter outbroke and outpaced the others for a half mile, but tired badly in the closing drive. Silver Stocking, away badly, got into quick early contention, but failed to stay. Ellerd began slowly and was hemmed in in close inside quarters to the stretch and made a fast, but belated, stretch rush. May L. N.. crowded out at the start, closed a big gap. Nadzu, after being skillfully reserved in a good position for the first mile, made good in a game closing stretch drive. Mike Jordan had no mishaps and virtually ran lapped on the winner throughout, but could not quite get up in a superior effort. Frank Lubbock ran in strenuous competition from the start and drew out like the winner in the stretch after excessive use throughout, but tired right at the end. Talamund ran forwardly for a mile and tired. Colonel White made the pace under a choking pull for a mile and quit. Kogo, outpaced and outclassed, finished well. Jeanne d Arc, always in forward contention, loomed up menacingly in the stretch and swerved to the inside, but wa3 a fast going second. Native Son, lucky and prominently placed throughout, tired in the closing drive. Royal Tourist, pulling up and nearly left, closed an immense gap in a great rush and probably was best. Sewell. outpaced in the early running, finished gain-in steadily in a cracking effort. Tony Faust, shuffled to the rear at the start, made up much ground. Jack Nunnally, away very badlv, closed up leisurely. Eyebright, unready at the start, was shuffled stead-ilv to the rear. Don Enrique was virtually left. Husky, outpaced in the early running, made a great stretch rush and is extra good. Phalanx, away slowly, forged into the lead in the first quarter and led on sufferance to the stretch, then tired badly in the closing drive. L. C. Ackerlcy ran forwardly throughout and finished wearing Phalanx down for third place. Etapa. from a flatfooted start, lost ground early and made up considerable ground in the last quarter. Bubbling Water, away slowly, closed up steadily into a fast going third and .would have been second in another stride. Palo Alto ran forwardly to the stretch and dropped out. running a poor race. Guy Fisher, pulling up at the start, steadily improved his position and is promising. Vibrate was well up throughout, but can do better.
