The Peer ran well, was gaining fast near the end and would have been much closer up but for going wide. Enfield was prominent all the way. but tired slightly in the stretch. Greenbridge. away slowly, closed a big gap from a poor beginning and ran a good race. Plume had no mishaps. Sainposal and Claiborne ran poorly and can do letter. Judge Treen. showing much Improved form, finished with a rush through the last quarter and outstayed Dona II.. The latter closed a gap and also came fast in the stretch. Maycella was in closest pursuit for three-quarters and tired in the stretch drive. Moscow Belle was allowed to drop far back in the first half and closed a big gap in the last quarter. Gold Treasure made a game effort on the stretch turn, but tired suddenly and had to be hard ridden in the last furlong to hold second place. Lady Baldur was prominent for three-quarters, but tired near the end and barely lasted long enough to save third place. Gllvedear finished gamely and would have been third in a few more strides. Bester-ling ran a bad race. Lignando quit in the last half. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. Scratched 78102 Alma Dufour. 106; 78187 The Shaughraun, 103. Overweights Lignando. 5 pounds.
