FAST MILES RECORDED THIS YEAR. Although the mile record has hot been broken this vear, it was equaled by Feru L. at Seattle and has been closely Approached a number of times and may yet be eclipsed. The Santa Anita track is probably the fastest in America and the speed of the Oakland track has evidently been greatly increased by its renovation last summer. Many remarkably fast horses will run over the two tracks presently and it is a point of interest as to whether some one of them will establish a new mile mark before the first day of the new year arrives.
