PROMOTERS OF MEXICAN RACING CONFER. New York, April 16. — James Butler was host at a dinner to a number of turfmen. In the party were Matt Winn. J. G. Follansliee. F. Gebhard. Algernon Daingerfiold and S. T. Walton. Mr. Wiiii only recently returned to New York from Mexico, where he spent a considerable time in making the preliminary arrangements for the opening of a racing circuit in that republic. He has been associated with Mr. Butler in the conduct of racing at Yonkers. and his duties there had much to do with his return to New York. Mr. Follansbee. who has extensive interests in Mexico, and who is a member of the Mexican Jockey Club, also returned very recently from the City of Mexico, and with Mr. Winn he was a guest of honor. Several prominent turfmen of New-York are in the Mexican project, and it is entirely possible that when racing begins next fall there Mr Butler may lie found in the list. Both Mr. Winn and Mr. Follansliee are enthusiastic over the prospect for the sport in Mexico and have already received hearty co-operation from the government.
