WALKER-OTIS LAW CASES DISMISSED. Men Arrested for Betting at Baseball Game in San Francisco Go Free When Cases Come to Trial. San Francisco. Cal.. May 21.— The li: t arrests made under the Walker-Otis aatl-bettlng act have not proved successful, as Police Judge Wilier, before whom they were tried, decided that they did not coaae wit Inn the purview of the act. The cases were those of Frank Myers. John Wilson and Frank Edwards, charged with gambling at the liall grounds. The district attorneys office experienced considerable difficulty in drawing up a complaint, and finally one was drawn an charging Mvers with forwarding money. It appeared that Myers was sitting between Wilson and Edwards, and one passed the money to him to give to the other. Attorney Carroll ., ,k moved thai the case lie dismissed, and the judge made the orih r. Cook then moved that the cases of Wilson and Edwards be dismissed on tile ground that no violation of the act had been committed as there was no stake holder and no recording of the bet. and the judge granted the motion.
